This Notice describes our policy regarding the collection and disclosure of your information.
What is nonpublic personal information?
Nonpublic personal information means information that identifies an individual personally and is not otherwise available to the public.
What nonpublic personal information does ARCH collect?
The types of nonpublic personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us. It may include:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms (e.g., previous insurance coverage);
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others (e.g., policy coverage, premiums, payment history);
- Information collected when you use our website, connect with us on social media, or interact with our online advertisements (e.g., usage data); and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency or insurance support organization (e.g., claims history).
How does ARCH use the nonpublic personal information that it collects?
ARCH collects nonpublic personal information to support our normal business operations and in the course of supporting your insurance coverage. ARCH uses your information to underwrite and rate your policies and accounts, process transactions and pay claims, protect against fraud and unauthorized activities, maintain your accounts, bill for services, enhance your customer experience, identify and offer products and services that may interest you, develop new products and services, and perform various other activities permitted by law. We may disclose any information we collect about you as permitted by law and without your prior authorization (e.g., to law enforcement officials). ARCH may make your information anonymous (“de-identify” it) and analyze it with other customers’ de-identified information for commercial purposes as permitted by law. ARCH may also share the information, as permitted by law, with other entities within our family of companies (our “affiliates”), with third party service providers, and with other unaffiliated parties. We may also disclose information with your written consent. The privacy practices described in this Notice apply to information held by both current and former customers.
Why does ARCH share my information?
We may share your information with our affiliates in order to provide you with services or products to the extent permitted by law. - In connection with a proposed or actual sale, merger, transfer, acquisition, or exchange of all or a portion of our business; and
- For marketing purposes.
How do I limit ARCH from sharing my information? Why can’t I limit all sharing by ARCH?
We share your information with our affiliates, for example, to improve the services and products we provide you and to avoid asking you to repeat the same information. If you prefer to limit information sharing, please contact us as indicated below. ARCH will implement your request within a reasonable time upon receipt. Applicable law gives you the right to limit sharing only in certain circumstances. Please note that your request to limit sharing does not limit us from sharing information for our everyday business purposes; as required law; or in connection with a proposed or actual sale, merger, transfer, acquisition, or exchange of all or a portion of our business. If state law further limits sharing, such as in Vermont or California, ARCH will automatically limit information sharing or send you additional information.
